FAQ
Who runs the toy library?
We are a non-profit organisation run by a voluntary committee with support from our members and their families. We are always in need of new committee members. From each new committee member, we gain new ideas and a fresh look into what can be improved. We are not a council or government organisation or a private company. We are a group of parents working together to benefit our children. The library is run by the members and a volunteer committee, who looks after the day-to-day running of the library.
How many toys can I borrow?
Currently, we offer a three (3) and six (6) toy borrowing membership to families, and a day care membership. Toys have a 28 day loan period.
What if we lose or damage pieces of a toy?
If you lose a piece we ask that you try to find it before returning the toy. If you are not able to find the piece within 6 months, or there is minor damage to a toy, you will be charged a repair or replacement fee generally $5.00.
What happens if the toy gets broken?
Every toy in our loaning library has a different cost. When there has been signifcant damage to an item, the committee may charge for the cost of replacement.
Can my child[ren] stay and play in the Toy Library?
Yes! Children are welcome to “stay and play” when you come to check out toys, we just ask that they are supervised as we are a toy library, not a care facility. Other family members are also welcome to help with carry toys and supervising children when you come to borrow or are on duty.
I have another question to ask…
